Barnet Football Club has opened a new £1m community health club at The Hive and seen its Under-18s secure a 2-0 victory over Northampton Town in the Youth Alliance Cup Southern Group.
Barnet FC launched The Hive Fitness Centre on 2 November 2012, featuring a 60-station gym equipped by Pulse Fitness, two group exercise studios, an indoor cycling area with 30 bikes, and wet areas including a sauna. Personal training services are available, and the facility is open to the public seven days a week with memberships starting at £29.99 per month. The club serves both professional footballers and local residents, aiming to promote health and fitness across the community.
The Under-18s began their Youth Alliance Cup Southern Group campaign with an impressive 2-0 win over an in-form Northampton Town side. Goals from Matty and Stanley secured the victory, with manager Ashleigh Hopkins praising the team's performance and noting they had produced another strong showing against Luton Town the previous weekend. Hopkins stated the focus had already shifted to the upcoming fixture against Bristol Rovers, acknowledging it would be a significant test against a well-organised opponent.
On Saturday 29 August 2026, Barnet drew 2-2 with Cheltenham at home in League Two. Kabongo Tshimanga scored a second-half penalty to salvage a point after Charlie Lakin had opened the scoring with a well-taken finish from the edge of the box. Cheltenham responded through Ryan Broom and Charlie McCann, but Tshimanga's penalty ensured Barnet maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
Barnet currently top League Two with 6 points from two games, having scored six goals and conceded two, giving them a +4 goal difference and recent form of two wins. The club remains unbeaten in League Two this season and will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next fixture, which supporters can track via our fixtures page.
