Barnet FC's promising start to the 2026/27 League Two campaign continued this week with two hard-fought away draws, extending their unbeaten run. The Bees were held 1-1 at Exeter City before sharing a six-goal thriller in a 3-3 draw at Chesterfield.

Barnet earned a point in a tight contest at St James Park on Tuesday 1 September. Idris Kanu opened the scoring on the hour mark, capitalising after Jack Bycroft saved from Kabongo Tshimanga. The lead was short-lived, as Reece Cole equalised for the Grecians just seven minutes later. Both sides had chances to win it, with Exeter seeing a late Gwion Edwards goal ruled out for offside.

Barnet had thought they'd taken an early lead through Danny Collinge, but the defender's effort was also disallowed for offside. The result means Barnet have taken eight points from their opening five matches.

A report from Barnet FC detailed a dramatic 3-3 draw at the Technique Stadium. Tom Knowles gave the Bees the lead with a superb individual effort, curling into the top corner after Chesterfield's Remeao Hutton was booked. The hosts, reduced to ten men, equalised through a Louie Marsh volley before Zac Williams restored Barnet's lead just before half-time.

Chesterfield fought back again after the break. Marsh scored his second to make it 2-2, but Barnet retook the lead through a Charlie Lakin effort. Joel Randall then struck a stoppage-time equaliser for the Spireites to snatch a point. The match was Barnet's third consecutive draw.

Barnet finished the 2025/26 season in 8th place in League Two, accumulating 76 points from 21 wins, 13 draws, and 12 losses. Their strong end to that campaign, with five straight wins, has carried into the new season. After five games this term, they have scored 70 goals and conceded 53 across all competitions, giving them a +17 goal difference.

The club currently sits 11 points behind early leaders Bromley in the nascent 2026/27 table. Their solid start provides a platform as they aim to improve on last season's finish. Fans can track the squad's contributions on our stats hub.

Attention now turns to the next home game at The Hive. Fleetwood Town will visit on Saturday 19 September, with kick-off at 3pm. According to an announcement from Fleetwood Town Football Club, tickets for away supporters are available online in advance.

Ticket prices for the match have been set, with adult tickets costing £28. The Cod Army will provide official coach travel for their fans, departing at 6am on the day of the game. Barnet will be looking to continue their encouraging form in front of their own supporters. The full schedule is available on our fixtures list.

Barnet's squad depth will be tested in the coming weeks, and manager Dean Brennan will be assessing his options from the full squad. The team's next challenge is to turn these draws into victories as they target the upper reaches of League Two.
