Barnet manager Dean Brennan believes his team is better equipped for promotion to League One, citing their improved strength in depth and experience in the Football League. The Bees finished eighth in League Two last season, 11 points behind leaders Bromley, and have since sold several key players, including winger Ryan Glover and striker Callum Stead. However, they have also brought in 10 new players, including defender Will Wright and goalkeeper Taye Ashby-Hammond, to replace them.

Brennan told BBC Radio London: "We didn't want to lose a lot of our key players, but we have. They've gone up the food chain. Some have gone to bigger clubs in terms of finance."

The club has been in the Football League for just over a year and has won the National League championship in the 2024-2025 season. Brennan is confident that the fans will support his ambitions to secure another promotion this campaign.

"The fans know what I'm like. In the last four years I've got a 54% win rate as a manager, so we want to continue that," Brennan said.

The job Brennan has done at the Hive has been compared to Andy Woodman at Bromley, with Woodman taking the fellow London side from the National League to League One in three seasons.

Barnet is currently 8th in League Two, with 76 points from 46 games, and has a goal difference of +17. They are set to face Walsall away on November 14th.

Brennan is confident that the team can turn their eighth-place finish into a promotion spot, saying: "We set a high bar, all the time. It's important we stay humble and keep our feet on the ground. We want to keep the momentum from the last two or three months of last season, when we were flying."

The challenge for Barnet is to turn their eighth-place finish into a promotion spot, and Brennan is confident that the team can do it.

"We're one of the favourites for the division, but I think that comes down to data and stats. Financially, we're nowhere near it; we're in the bottom four. The challenge for us is turning eighth place into second, third, or even the play-off positions. That's the next question for us. Can we answer that question?"

Barnet's next fixture is against Walsall away on November 14th, and the team will be looking to build on their recent form.
